Contact centres run rotating and night rosters, especially offshore operations serving other time zones, on screen-based, monotonous work. Poor sleep drives errors, absence and turnover.
A tripartite review of the Employment Act, including Part IV hours coverage, is due to report in 2H 2026; any change needs new legislation. The Workplace Fairness Act 2025 (covering disability and mental health conditions) is targeted to commence around end-2027.

Singapore has no call-centre fatigue or hours law. The Employment Act's hours protections - a 44-hour normal week, a 12-hour daily cap and a weekly rest day - cover only workmen on up to S$4,500 and other staff on up to S$2,600 basic a month, so agents and team leads paid above S$2,600 have no statutory hours cap. The safety duty and MOM's fatigue guidelines apply to 24/7 contact-centre shifts regardless of pay.

MOM

监管机构
MOM administers the Employment Act's hours rules and the Workplace Safety and Health Act, and the WSH Council and MOM publish general fatigue guidelines. TAFEP promotes fair employment under tripartite guidelines until the Workplace Fairness Act 2025 commences, targeted for end-2027.
您的义务
You owe the baseline safety duty, including adequate training and supervision. For staff within the salary thresholds, the Employment Act caps work at 12 hours a day and overtime at 72 hours a month, with a weekly rest day - 30 continuous hours for shift workers. Staff above the thresholds have no statutory cap. MOM's fatigue guidelines recommend, not require, shifts of no more than 12 hours including overtime and caution over 2am-6am work.
后果
Baseline WSH Act penalties apply: up to S$500,000 for a company and S$200,000 and/or two years' jail for an individual (WSH Act maxima, 2026). Unpaid overtime or denied rest days for covered staff carry up to S$5,000 per offence, S$10,000 and/or 12 months' jail on repeat, and can lead to Employment Claims Tribunal claims. For agents above the thresholds, the safety duty is the main exposure.
处罚
Employment Act hours breaches cost up to S$5,000 per offence (2026), and back pay for unpaid overtime can follow through the Employment Claims Tribunals. WSH Act fines reach S$500,000 for a company. The larger cost of contact-centre fatigue is attrition and error rates.
记录在案
No Singapore court, coroner, investigator or regulator has published a finding linking fatigue to an incident in contact centres. Fatigue risk still falls under the Workplace Safety and Health Act duty and MOM's fatigue management guidelines.

Sleepfit
支持您的一般注意义务
Sleepfit screens sleep health across your agents, supporting the risk assessment reg 3 of the WSH (Risk Management) Regulations requires you to conduct. No Singapore rule names a sleep screen. It screens; diagnosis stays with your clinicians.
Awareness eLearning gives your agents recorded fatigue education, supporting your general duty under s 12(3)(e) of the WSH Act to provide adequate instruction, information and training. MOM's fatigue guidelines recommend it; no rule names it.
Was It Fatigue? structures a fatigue review after an incident, supporting the risk assessment review reg 7 of the Risk Management Regulations requires after an injury. Reporting rules name no cause. A structured judgement aid, not a determination of cause.
SleepWellBaby supports parents among your agents through the most broken months of infant sleep. No Singapore rule reaches sleep in new-parent households; it is offered as a benefit.
Fatiguefit4Duty is built for safety-sensitive roles at the point of duty. Contact centre roles are generally not safety-sensitive and no Singapore rule requires a fitness-for-duty check, so nothing is engaged.
Your contact centre teams hold no safety-sensitive roles, so your duty is WSH Act 2006 s 12 and a reg 3 risk assessment. Sleepfit screens; Awareness eLearning supplies content with a completion record; SleepWellBaby is an employee benefit. Family is the lighter option.
