No Singapore law caps driving hours for bus, taxi, private-hire or goods-vehicle drivers, and LTA's vocational demerit system has no fatigue category. The fatigue content is in MOM's guidelines, which include a pre-work driving checklist - including no more than six hours' continuous driving without a break - and a case study of a fatal collision on a driver's fourth night shift. That is guidance, not law.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) licenses bus, taxi and private-hire drivers through vocational licences with a demerit-point system, and contracts public bus services. MOM enforces the baseline safety and employment law, and the Platform Workers Act 2024 gives ride-hail and delivery workers CPF and work injury protection.
You carry the baseline safety duty. MOM's fatigue guidelines recommend - not require - checking that drivers have not driven more than six hours continuously without a break, providing adequate breaks and taking care over 2am-6am driving. Employment Act caps apply to drivers within the salary thresholds (workmen up to S$4,500). Under the Platform Workers Act 2024, platform operators must make CPF contributions and provide work injury compensation; it does not address hours.
A fatigued driver who injures others faces prosecution: the 2021 Yishun bus captain was jailed. Employers face baseline WSH Act penalties - up to S$500,000 for a company and S$200,000 and/or two years' jail for an individual (WSH Act maxima, 2026) - and Employment Act hours breaches of up to S$5,000 per offence. Vocational licences can be suspended through demerit points, though fatigue is not itself a listed offence.
No transport-specific fatigue fine exists; the costs are prosecutions, injuries and service disruption. Work injury compensation limits rose on 1 November 2025, to up to S$269,000 for a death, and platform workers are covered through the Platform Workers Act 2024.
