Mostly daytime clinic work with heavy caseloads and emotional load; after-hours and crisis on-call add broken sleep. Poor sleep feeds burnout and turnover more than acute safety risk.

Allied health adds a personal duty, not an employer rule. The Council's Code of Professional Conduct requires each professional to limit their scope of work or stop practising if their ability to practise safely and effectively is adversely affected by their health or any other reason - which covers fatigue. No rule limits allied health rostered hours; employers carry the baseline duties.

The Allied Health Professions Council registers and disciplines physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, radiographers and other allied health professionals under the Allied Health Professions Act 2011. MOM and the baseline law cover their employers.
Your registered professionals must limit or stop their practice when their ability to practise safely is impaired, and seek medical guidance where their health is the cause (Code of Professional Conduct, section 7). You carry the baseline duties: the safety duty, Employment Act hours caps for staff within the salary thresholds, and compulsory work injury insurance. Supporting staff to stop when impaired, rather than rostering around them, keeps both duties aligned.
A professional who practises while impaired faces disciplinary action by the Council, up to suspension or removal from the register. That is separate from your exposure as employer: up to S$500,000 for a company and S$200,000 and/or two years' jail for an individual (WSH Act maxima, 2026).
Professional discipline carries the heaviest cost for the individual: loss of registration ends the right to practise. For the employer, baseline figures apply - WSH Act fines up to S$500,000 for a company (2026) and work injury compensation limits raised on 1 November 2025.
记录在案
No Singapore court, coroner, investigator or regulator has published a finding linking fatigue to an incident in allied health. Fatigue risk still falls under the Workplace Safety and Health Act duty and MOM's fatigue management guidelines.
